Oregano
Origanum vulgare
Oregano originates from the Mediterranean basin
Its essential oil is used in perfumery, cosmetics and the food industry.
Used extensively in tomato-based dishes, oregano can also be used to flavour soups and sauces.
It is used in the composition of Provence herbs, along with other herbs such as rosemary, basil and tarragon.
Oregano, like marjoram or thyme, has fabulous antiseptic properties. When infused, it can be effective in case of fever and colds.
This herb also has many benefits on the digestive system.
Finally, oregano is rich in antioxidants, vitamins K and E, iron, calcium and manganese.
