Acai
Euterpe oleracea
Acai fruit is rich in protein, carbohydrates and fat. They are used as a powder or frozen puree. Acai has a fairly high content of antioxidants but still less than acerola or strawberry for example.
Acai berries are nevertheless sources of vitamins and dietary fibre and have anti-inflammatory and appetite suppressant properties. They are often used in slimming remedies. Finally, its energetic power and digestive properties make acai a "super-fruit".
